Since 2008, the Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage has been in development, with 56 elements entered by the end of 2016—some of which have been declared masterpieces of national significance.

With brief descriptions of elements taken from the Register, maintained by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, this booklet aims to present the intangible cultural heritage of Slovenia listed between 2008 and 2015, raising awareness of its importance. It also hopes to encourage heritage bearers to submit proposals for entry into the Register, which serves as one of the tools for documenting and preserving Slovenia’s intangible cultural heritage.
